We’ve tinted our bottles navy blue - not just for eye-candy, but to protect the juice inside. Light and heat aren’t a perfumes best friends, so here’s a tip: keep your fragrance in a cool, dry, and dark spot. If you’re saving it for special occasions, storing it in the original box is even better. It might be convenient to keep it in the bathroom cupboard but if you can write your name in the steam on your mirror, avoid it. Steam and swinging temperatures can mess with your perfume’s freshness. For those of you in warmer climates, don’t hesitate to pop your bottle in the fridge. It’ll stay fresh and give you a cool spritz on a hot day.

There really aren’t any rules on how to apply your perfume except, it should start with pleasing you first! So go bananas and spray as much or as little as you like so you can enjoy it. On the tips of your hair, clothes and pulse points like your neck, knees, inner elbows and even your wrists. I see you clutching your pearls but relax! Contrary to what you may have been told, you won’t ‘bruise’ or alter your perfume if you rub your wrists together. However, rubbing your wrists may generate heat which will make your perfume evaporate quicker from your skin, reducing its longevity. Simply spray and let it soak in.

It seems a bit silly that this must be mentioned but it’s perfume, so for external use only! Don’t ingest it and avoid contact with your eyes, mouth or any orifice for that matter, as it could cause irritation and/or make you uncomfortable.

There’s no one way to extract natural ingredients, and sometimes chemicals help with the extraction - but don’t stress, they don’t end up in the final product. We’re committed to being 100% natural, though not quite 100% organic... yet.
ESSENTIAL OILS
Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts - capturing the true essence of their source. We usually get them through steam distillation, where the oils evaporate with steam and then condense into the good stuff. For citrus oils, we keep it fresh with cold pressing to grab all that zesty goodness.

Natural Isolates are distilled essence of essential oils, bringing out those fresh, light nuances in a perfume. They’re single scent molecules taken from their natural source using low-key methods like fractional distillation - basically separating things out - and are great for boosting the intensity of a perfume.

Concretes are raw super concentrated, aromatic extracts from plants extracted as a semi-solid mass using a solvent – while solvent isn’t a natural product, that gets removed - leaving behind a natural waxy material with deep, earthy or floral tones.

Absolutes are intense, luxurious aromatics and a step up from concretes. They’re crafted by extracting substances from concretes or resinoids with ethanol, which is then removed to leave behind the pure absolute. This process yields an extract that's richer in colour, waxier, and more intense than essential oils.

Resinoids are those thick, sticky, sacred scents that come from tree sap and add warmth and staying power. Extracted with ethanol, they’re used as a natural fixative—helping your perfume last longer on your skin.

Nestled in a forest that transforms into a sea of golden mimosa blooms every new year, and just a stone’s throw from the world’s perfume capital, Grasse, lies our 250- year-old stone bergerie. Once a home for sheep, it is now the heart of 528 UNDERGROUND.
At the Bergerie, we hand-blend and fill small batches of our own formulas, embracing the essence of “mise en bouteille à la Bergerie”. Inspired by the local winery culture, we’ve also begun growing our own essences, which we plan to distill and share through our upcoming Raw Booster collection.
Adding an extra note of love and intention, we infuse every bottle with the 528Hz frequency - a sound believed to promote love and well-being - into every batch we produce.
